- What is VBS? What for exist it ? Read this !
-
- Some of you were thinking whether not to buy a streamer ?
- If you don't have much money and you haven't place to keep your informations
- (files of datas) too - you can use your video recorder. How ? I explain it.
- I sugest you to make an interface.
- A scheme of example is on a picture FIGURE 1.
- It works by using (out video signal) to record and (in video signal) to
- interface which is connected with a serial port (RS232).
- For using this interface you need to have a VBS shareware program
- made by H.Lyppens (Normal or AGA version).
- It works with every Amigas but A3000,A4000 need to add a signal summator
- to get (out video signal).Commodore hadn't put it to this machines.
- A scheme of a simple sumator you can watch at a picture FIGURE 2.
- Because some of people use monitors Multisync or VGA so they must be ready
- that VBS will change display mode to PAL and it is necessary for working
- with video recorder (I don't know how it work in NTSC mode,I haven't NTSC's
- video recorder ).
- If you haven't this program you can find it on sort of Public Domain Disk.
-
- Diods on FIGURE 2 are used to separate RGB signal from sumator (if you use
- Multisync or VGA or any monitor that uses VideoPort socket).
- If you are going to build it you can use arbitrary fast diode.
- You don't need these diode if you use normal monitor (composite video).
- You need some cables too (to connect all inputs & outputs).
- Program VBS is very user friendly.I won't be writing about that.
-
- About connection (FIGURE 1):
-
- Video INPUT - connect it with Video Output from your video recorder (VR)
- Video OUTPUT - connect it with other monitor (for observing screen from VR)
- Serial Port - no comment... (if you don't know where, than you
- won't made this interface).
- You must connect video output from Amiga (Composite - A1200,A600
- Mono - A500,A2000 )
- or, if you have A3000,A4000 - Video OUT with summator (FIGURE 2),
- with video input from your VR.
